I was in Lake Havasu City visiting my daughter, Katie Freburg, and her family last fall.
My granddaughter, Bella, and I decided to sign up for the Thriller Dance Team.
Heidi and her darling kids, Gracie and Keenan, where also part of our team.
I have worked with kids and parents in the past in this sort of setting and was so happy to see a family participating the way they were. I imagined Heidi having a busy day with two little kids and still having the energy to come to all of our evening practices. Also noticed that Dad was there cheering them on.
I didn't realize Heidi was dealing with cancer!
Little Gracie came up to Bella at school to tell her that her mom had died. Bella called me early this morning to tell me.
"Grace" certainly defines Heidi's personality, the little bit I was lucky to oversee. For such a young woman she was certainly strong and certainly handled her lot in life with grace.
My sympathies to her family. I lost a brother to cancer at age 23 (brain tumor) and know how hard losing a young life is to all of the family.
Bless all of you and Heidi's soul.
