LAWRENCE SMITH JR. Lawrence Smith Jr. passed away in Lake Havasu City, AZ on May 3, 2012 at the age of 86. Corky, as he was known to family and friends, was born on October 13, 1925 in Los Angeles, CA to Lawrence and Lola (Crick) Smith. Corky was the owner of Barclay Architectural Products before moving to Lake Havasu City 23 years ago. He served his country proudly in the U S Navy during WW II. He was a member of Mt. Olive Lutheran Church, B.P.O.E. #2399, V.F.W. Post #9401. He loved magic, golf, tennis and make people laugh. He enjoyed music, reading classified ads out loud, history and politics. He also enjoyed spending time with his coffee buddies at Hasting, bible study group, Criscillo group and Veterans Support group. Corky is survived by his loving family, wife of 65 years Eleanor Smith of Lake Havasu City, AZ; sons Larry (Jeanne) Smith of Austin, TX and Steve (Donna) Smith of McKinney, TX; daughters Michelle "Shelly" (Pete) Klovanish of Mission Viejo, CA and Kathleen (Bill) Slagle of Las Vegas, NV; 10 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. Memorial services will be held on Tuesday May 8, 2012 at 2:00 PM at Mt. Olive Lutheran Church, 2170 Havasupai Blvd., Lake Havasu City, AZ with words of comfort and inspiration by Pastor Jim Price and Rev. Steven Smith. A reception will follow at the V.F.W. Post #9401, 266 London Bridge Rd., Lake Havasu City, AZ 86403. Donation can be made in Corky's name to Mt Olive Lutheran Building Fund or Hospice of Havasu, P O Box 597, Lake Havasu City, AZ 86403.
