Our deepest sympathy to Nancy and family. Bob's passing leaves a void for all of his immediate family but alos for his "recon" family who were priviledged to have been able to serve under his command as our platoon sargent in Viet Nam. His leadership is one of the reasons we are here and able to honor him at the time of his passing. I know I can speak for each of my recon brothers in priase of Sgt. Thompson, as he will always be remembered. Reuniting with him In Wash. DC in July of 2011, gave us all the opportunity to let him and his wonderful life partner Nancy know how much he meant to each of us. We will truely miss him. May he rest in peace with the knowledge that he made a differnece in the lives of those he touched in his special way.
