Obituary of Richard McKenzie Duncan

Richard McKenzie Duncan January 21, 1937 – June 17, 2021 Richard McKenzie Duncan, 84, passed away at his home in Lake Havasu City, Arizona. He was born January 21, 1937 in Memphis, Tennessee to Herbert and Addie Duncan. He graduated from Paducah High School, Paducah Texas in 1955 and he was Senior Class President. He served in the United States Army. He earned his Doctorate in Chiropractics at Palmer College of Chiropractics and he worked in the field for 60 years. He married his first wife Ann in 1960 in San Antonio, Texas and his second wife Virginia Duncan in March, 1971 in Albuquerque, New Mexico. He has lived in many states, Tennessee, Nebraska, New Mexico, Texas and his final residence of Arizona. Richard enjoyed model airplanes, boating, fishing, camping, playing the piano, which he was self taught, football and a good joke. He was preceded in death by his wives, Ann Duncan Evans and Virginia Duncan, his parents, Addie and Herbert Duncan, his brother Edwin Duncan and his sister Martha Jones. He is survived by his daughters, Sonja Barnett (Kary) of Amarillo, Texas, and Penny McCullugh (Dave) of Hot Springs Village, Arkansas, his companion and close friend Joanne Tipton, his 3 granddaughters, who were his pride and joy and his 3 great-grandchildren. He was a member of Mt. Olive Lutheran Church and Rotary. Donations can be made in Richard’s name to Western Arizona Humane Society and Meals on Wheels. Richard’s Memorial Service will be held Friday, June 25, 2021 at 11:00 AM at Mt. Olive Lutheran Church.
