I met Donnell in 1994. I rented a station in her Salon. We worked together for a few years. We became friends. I just told my girls, if you could count your closest friends on one hand?! You are a rich person, they make the best friends!! Donnell was one of those friends. She introduced me to Sushi!! The whole shop went to Maui for a hair show. We found this little restaurant called the Blue Dolphin. They had all you can eat crab legs!! Not the little ones, these were the California king crab legs
After the first night, we went back every night!! Told the waiter skip the veggies, just bring on the crab!!
They were so delicious!! The Hawaiian cocktails!!!! It was amazing!! A trip I will never forget
We never did make it to the hair show!! We were having to much well needed fun!!!
She’d come to my house in Acton for our big get togethers!! We had a lot of parties in those days!!
I did a lot of driving to Oregon when she lived in Placerville. I always stopped to stay with her on my dive up. I was never in rush to leave. It was a heartfelt time for the both of us. She’d share her garden with me. Showed me her wood work! We’d share a bottle of wine
Or two!!
She was one of those friends that was always there for you!! She asked me to stay with her when I was getting a divorce. So I could be close to my son during the process
She wasn’t much of an eater back then, I cooked dinner anyway and she’d always join me!! We were there for each other!!
We used to have some late late nights, talking! Men bashing was a common theme for her and I at that time!!! We laughed!!! We cried!!! It was a special time in my heart with her!! I worried about her even though she was there for me
You couldn’t ask for a better sister friend!!
She moved to Arizona and I didn’t get to see her much. But she was one of those friends that when you picked up the phone, it was like we’ve been talking and getting together daily! Didn’t skip a beat, just pick up where you left off
Some how we did lose touch??
I’m not happy about that. Not sure but life gets in the way.
I have two girls I’ve adopted, 11 and 13. I’ve had them since they were babies. Not sure what Donnell was doing? But I was definitely sure were going to have more time
I’m so grateful for her friendship
Her love, support, kindness and the time we shared with our wine
I couldn’t of asked for a better friendship than she gave me.
She was a character that always seemed to shine no matter what she was going through. I absolutely knew she had some hard times
She was a strong woman and so full of love. Funny!!! Compassion.and heartfelt
Donnell, you’re taking a piece of my heart with you!! Make sure you give my Ray a hard tight hug from me
Ray you give Donnell a big hug and kiss from me!!
I love you girlfriend♥️♥️ You will be missed!!!
