Trudy Hetherington Lamont, age 64, passed away in her home in Lake Havasu City, Arizona after a brief bout with cancer, surrounded by her family and friends on March 7, 2018.
Trudy was born on August 2, 1953 in London, Ontario, Canada to William Benjamin and Shirley Irene Hetherington. She immigrated to the States in 1957 with her older brothers Terrence and Russell, living in Illinois and Louisiana before settling in Pasadena, California.
In elementary school, Trudy was chosen to move ahead and skip a grade with her friends Sharon Shima and Cloe Mayes Yocum. Trudy attended McKinley Junior High and John Muir High School, where she first met Peter Lamont. She graduated in 1970. While attending Pasadena City College, she renewed her friendship with Peter, whom she married on February 10, 1973.
Throughout her life, Trudy held various position within the Insurance and Mortgage Banking industries. She was intelligent, compassionate and had a great knack as a problem solver. She was a confidant, mentor and trusted friend to many, and above all, a loving wife and mother.
Trudy lived life to the fullest through simple pleasures. She was an avid reader and liked spending her time at the river with her husband, family and all of her friends. Another passion of hers was going on Caribbean cruises every now and then with her husband and various cruising buddies.
Trudy is survived by her husband Peter of 45 years, daughters Michelle Lynn and Nicole Marie and her bother Terrence Hetherington, as well as her four grandchildren: Meaghan, Anthony, Logan and Ben.
Family and friends will be gathering at the Bethany Bible Church in Lake Havasu City on Saturday, March 17, 2018 at 3:00PM for a Celebration of Life for Trudy.
