Obituary of James O'Connor

Please share a memory of James to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

James "Jim" O'Connor, of Lake Havasu City, Arizona, passed away on December 26, 2017. He was born November 16, 1942 to parents, James and Mary O'Connor in Boston, Massachusetts. He was 75 years of age.

Born/raised in Boston, after graduating high school, Jim carried on the family tradition and joined the police academy where he eventually was a proud member of the Boston Police Tactical Division, relocating to Basalt, Colorado in 1978 where he became Chief of Police. Being a policeman was in his blood and he loved it. After years of police enforcement in 1985, he moved to Arizona. After arriving in Lake Havasu City, Arizona, Jim met Linda and after a long courtship, they married on December 23, 2000 in Bullhead City, Arizona. Jim loved golf so much that he ended up retiring as a Golf Pro at the London Bridge Golf Course. Jim and Linda then worked together as a team doing catering for Scotty's Catering Truck in Lake Havasu City, Arizona.

Being a policeman, playing golf, and hunting were just a few of his many interests in life. He loved knowing about the history of our Country and studied it as well. His main motto in life was to live life to the fullest! Jim and Linda loved to walk Monday-Saturday for many years at Rotary beach. They knew so many of the walkers and he will be missed by all. Jim always had a joke to tell and some kind of wise crack that made him loved by all. Jim was also one of the proudest Irishman we ever knew. The name O'Connor meant the world to him.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Linda; son, Michael O'Connor.

Jim is survived by son, Mark O'Connor, of Littleton, Colorado; Step-son, John Sullivan, of Caldwell, Idaho; daughters, Cheryl Feeley, of Lakewood, Colorado and Jacalyn Brownson, of Rifle, Colorado; brother, Robert O'Connor, of Billerica, Massachusetts; seventeen grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
