Uncle Jimmy and family,
We have fond memories of happy times with you and Auntie Dixie; most recently when you both came over to Arizona for our daughter's (Chelsea) wedding. Previously, you both were present at our son's (Sprae) wedding. We enjoyed laughing and eating breakfast together on the mornings after.
Thank you for always being there to encourage and support our family.
We love you very much.
Michael, Wendy, Sprae, Chelsea, and family

I'm so sorry to hear about Dixie. I have known her for many of years, since I was in high school. She was always smiling and fun to be around. She was there for my sister Gayle when she needed her to be. She will dearly be missed.

Aunt Dixie I will miss you more than you will ever know. You were truly one of a kind and coming to Lake Havasu will never be the same. I remember so many things but I just loved to see how much you and my uncle loved each other.
It was so nice to have people like you in my life to look up too.
You were simple and didn't need much....just each other. Your beautiful face will be forever missed.
I promise to keep visiting my uncle Jim as much as I can. And always keep your memory alive around every family gathering.
Thanks for being you.
Love,
Amber Dawn

I did not personally know Mrs. Velner however, I have experienced the loss of loved ones. It is times like these that being reminded of God's promises regarding death and the resurrection provide comfort.
Death was not God’s purpose for mankind and his purpose has not changed. God’s word says 'death is an enemy' and promises it will be 'brought to nothing'. (1Corinthians 15:26) Psalm 34:18 says, "Jehovah is close to the brokenhearted; He saves those who are crushed in spirit." So, God does care about our pain and grief so much so that he guarantees the restoration of life or as one definition says, "the state of one risen from the dead".
As you know, Jesus not only spoke of the coming resurrection (John 5:21, 28, 29), he himself was resurrected by his Father and performed many miracles including resurrections. So, all resurrections took place here on earth giving us fore-gleams of what is to come.
God's word assures us that the grief and sorrow we experience is temporary (Revelation 21:4) because God is a promise keeper and we will have the prospect of seeing our loved ones again! (Acts 24:15) This truth not only provides hope for the future but serves to comfort us even now.
As you cherish the many fond of memories of Mrs. Velner, may God continue to bless your family and friends in the coming days.........
