Obituary of Edward Norman Briggs
Please share a memory of Edward to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Edward Norman Briggs, RPh 86, passed peacefully in his sleep on October 19, 2017 with his son Gregory Briggs and best friend Roberta "Birdie" Sessions at his side. He was the only child born to Percy Briggs and the former Pauline Baker.
Ed earned his degree from the University of Buffalo, School of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences in 1955. Ed served in the U.S. Army in Germany as a medic. Ed married Dorothy and they relocated to Lake Havasu City in August 1979. In his illustrious career, Ed worked at Food City, Liska's Apothecary, Walgreens, and K-mart. Ed mentored young colleagues in the pharmaceutical profession, creating lifelong friendships.
Passing before him were his beautiful wife Dorothy of 50+ years and his dogs Gracie and Amber. Ed is survived by his only child, Gregory Briggs and daughter-in-law Marcia Briggs, of Hamburg, NY. Ed is survived by his dog Pete and countless great friends and children who loved spending time with him. He loved being called "Grandpa" and watching the children have fun.
Ed was an avid outdoorsman who loved hunting, boating, fishing, walking and any desert recreation. Ed really loved rock hounding and was extremely proud of his beautiful rock collection. He knew the desert like the back of his hand and was always willing to share his knowledge with others. Ed had many hobbies like raising passion flowers, which he shared generously, lapidary, jewelry making, square dancing and playing pool. Ed was well known for his kindness, thoughtfulness, and his generous heart as well as his spitfire and witty humor, which will live on forever in the hearts he touched. He will be sorely missed.
A celebration of his life will be held at his home on Sunday October 29, 2017 from 1 to 5pm.
