Charles Duane Finckof Dickinson, ND and Lake Havasu City, AZ died suddenly at Havasu Regional Medical Center on Saturday, November 19th, 2016, due to a massive stroke. He was 76years old. Charlie was born on December 2nd, 1939 in Fargo, ND. He attended Elementary and Middle School in Elgin, ND, and graduated from Elgin High School.
Charlie obtained his Bachelor of Science in Mathematics from Dickinson State University. He earned his Master's Degree in Mathematics from Louisiana State University in 1972.He married Judith Marlene Laub in 1963 and together they had 3 children, Nancy, Brian and Steven. Charlie taught math, science and computers at Belfield High School, Dickinson High School and Hagen Junior High School. He dedicated himself to helping shape thousands of young minds. He finished his career in administration with Dickinson Public Schools.
He loved to golf and watch his beloved Blue Hawks play football. Charlie loved to strike up a conversation with anyone, anywhere, on any topic. He will be greatly missed.
He is survived by his wife Judy, his three children and their spouses, Nancy/Dennis Garboden, (Eugene, Oregon),Cindy/Brian Finck (Eureka, California)and Kelli/Steven Finck (Mound, Minnesota) and his eight grand-children (Gabriel, Garrison, MacKenzie, Hannah, Avery, Sage, Ruby, and Charles).
A visitation service organized by Lietz-Fraze Funeral Home will be held in Lake Havasu on November 23rd, 2016 from 1-3 pm. A Celebration of Life and burial for Charlie will be held in North Dakota in July, 2017.
