Obituary of Elaine Clemens
Please share a memory of Elaine to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Elaine Lois Clemens passed away Sunday morning after a brief illness. She and her husband Verne retired to Lake Havasu in 1981, from Chicago. Elaine was born at Hinsdale, Illinois in 1925. She met her husband Verne, in Chicago and they were married in 1951. They raised four children, while living in Chicago. Elaine was active politically in the Cook County Republican Party. She was proud to be a Goldwater/Reagan conservative, which was a rarity in Chicago. She is survived by three of her children; Georgia Lipp of Lake Havasu City, Mark Clemens of Orange, California and Jay Clemens of Tucson, Arizona. She has seven grandchildren and one great grandchild. Her brother, Claude Michaelson lives in the Phoenix area. Elaine and Verne loved their children and provided for them throughout their lives. They were an example of stability, integrity and love. In her retirement years, she enjoyed Bingo and Video Poker tournaments in Laughlin. She and Verne would dance at Don Laughlin's Casino every Sunday at their tea dance. They danced to Big Band and Country Western music, mingling with the many friends they had on the dance floor. Some of our fondest memories are of them dancing together, smiling and chatting as they glided along the floor. They worked hard all their lives, then had pleasure in their retirement. We were blessed to have them as parents. We will miss them, but will forever imagine them dancing together forever in our hearts. We love you Mom!
