John (Jack) Barger, age 86, of Lake Havasu City, passed away Sunday, November 9, 2014. Jack was born March 1, 1928 in Aberdeen, South Dakota. He is the son of the late John Guy and Olive Marie (Burns) Barger. On February 16, 1950 Jack married Hilde Marie Dutenhoeffer.
Jack received a Bachelors degree of Science in Electrical Engineering and later worked with Line Material Industries for 27 years. During his time Jack resided in Aberdeen, SD, for 23 years; Grand Rapids, MI, for 7 years; Greendale, WI, for 20 years; East Troy, WI, for 20 years; and Lake Havasu City, for 16 years.
During his free time, Jack enjoyed golfing, working in his shop, and spending time with his family.
Jack was a member of Our Lady of the Lake, and The Knights of Columbus in Lake Havasu City.
Jack is survived by his wife, Hilde Barger, of Lake Havasu City, Arizona; four sons, Scott Barger, of Thousand Oaks, California; Guy Barger, of Agoura Hills, California; Kurt Barger, of Eau Claire, Wisconsin; Tim Barger, of Millersville, Maryland; three sisters, Phyliss Swanda of Beaverton, Oregon; Bette Riley, of Billings, Montana; and Carol Herman, of Delta, Colorado. He is also survived by four grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren.
Jack is preceded in death by parents, John Guy and Olive Marie Barger; and son Craig W. Barger.
A memorial gathering for Jack will be held Wednesday, November 12, 2014 at 3:00 PM at Lietz-Fraze Funeral Home Chapel (21 Riviera Blvd, Lake Havasu City, Arizona.) followed by a service at 4:00 PM.
