My name is Jan Deaver, and my husband & I have wintered in Havasu for many years, starting our Snowbird life in 1991. I worked at Aurora Community/Humana Hosp. Aurora
( plus a few other name changes for the same institution) from1976 to 1991, and was an RN in ER, outpatient surgery, PACU, & in nsg. supervision throughout the years. I remember Dr. Wintory very well, and all of us thought so much of him. He was an excellent surgeon, had an easy smile, and a great manner with patients and staff. We especially enjoyed him because not ALL the orthopedic surgeon colleagues he had at that time were as even-tempered! I liked the way he took care of his patients, and came back in to see them if there was any question of problems in the recovery process. His surgical outcomes were excellent. So I was delighted when I found your path brought you both to Lake Havasu. I had worked as a Snowbird RN in the ER here till last year, & always thought I might run into him. Talking to Dr. Binder, filled me in on the fact that Terry was a very valued addition to Lakeside, and he filled a very important role in seeing patients, even though he was not doing surgery. We were so sad to hear of his much too early passing. He was a good man, obviously had a beautiful, loving family, and contributed much to the world. We are wishing you sincere sympathy, prayers, and comfort.
