I remember your mother very well. My parents were close friends of Mick and Jean, and that's how they met Garnette and Jerry.
I have fond memories of spending time at the house above Curry's Corner. To this day I can see her smile.....and I can hear her laugh. I can even remember the smell of the room the boys shared over the garage (who couldn't!).
I can distinctly remember that when you at her house she made you feel like family. Her place always felt like "home". Honest, hard working, sincerely, and fiercely loyal; yup, that was Garnette.
Garnette was a special lady, and has always held a special place in my heart. Always will.
I'm so terribly sorry for your loss. She truly was a wonderful person.

I remember playing cards with Mom (Bonnie Feistner), Garnette, Joanne, Etta, and Linda at the Moose. All the young guys (5 0+ :grinning:)loved having them show up. They kept their drinks full. They were card sharks and comrades. I hope I have that much gamewhen I'm over 70. I loved Garnette.

I was shocked when I heard of Garnette's passing. She was like a second mom to me and stood by me last July when I lost my mom. She opens her door to everyone and was a comforting factor in my life. My best memory I will carry with me is our trip from Alaska to Lake Havasu in the Motor home. It was a trip she dreamed of and she made it happen. She will be dearly missed and mom and JoAnne are up there waiting for her to come home. Love you Garnette. You will be in my prayers daily along with cherished memories.

I am sorry to read about the passing of Garn. We met in 1995 on a Trafalgar tour of Britain, Scotland and Ireland and remained friends from that moment on. We caught up again a few years later when I was living in London for tea at a swanky hotel, but due to me relocating back to Australia, sadly that was the last time we met in person but we remained in touch via Facebook. Such lovely memories. RIP old friend. Lindy xxx

We are sad to hear about Garnettes passing. She was very generous to me. She welcomed me into her home when I, in high school, first came to Fairbanks, even though she already had a houseful. I stayed in her and JRs home all that summer. She welcomed me later too when I needed a place to stay for awhile between work sessions out of town. She never asked anything of me other than to stay out of trouble. I am grateful for that and we are grateful to have known her. We will remember her big smile.

I have had the pleasure of knowing Garnette for well over 20 years. When ever she popped in to see me she was always a bright spot of the day. She treated me like one of her kids at times, a strong, well meaning person who I will miss. Even when she was just here for a short time in Fairbanks in the past few years she made it a point to see me. I loved her take on life, her frank and straight forward advice will be missed. Please extend my condolences to her whole family for me I will never forget her.

We were so sorry to read about the passing of your Mom. Your Mom lived next door to us for just a few years and it was wonderful having her for a neighbor. Some people are just fun to be with and anytime we visited one another we laughed a lot and shared life's ups & downs. Mostly the ups. I missed her when she decided to move down south, but we did get to see one another on occasions during her visits back to Fairbanks.......still laughing and joking as we had in years past. The casual visits we had will be missed.
When someone you love becomes a memory, the memory becomes a treasure.
She was tough, but she was also a treasure....Yours especially, but also everyone who knew her.

Always loved your mother. I have and will always carry loving fond memories of our times together from my childhood on into adulthood. I have a gorgeous neck scarf she made for me and I cherish it then and forever. Very sad loss but she an added angel with our other lost friends and family whom are together again, pain free. May this time of sorrowness be filled with knowing that Garnett was a great lady and will be sorely missed. Love to each of you.
