Obituary of William J. Hixson

William J. Hixon passed away Sunday morning, May 17, 2015 from heart failure in Lake Havasu City, Arizona. Bill was a World War II Veteran serving in the South Pacific as a lieutenant in the Infantry. Bill graduated from the University of Oregon and continued graduate studies in painting at the University of Oregon and at L'Academie de la Grande Chaumiere, in Paris. Bill was an accomplished painter and a beloved professor at the University of Washington for 40 years. Bill and his wife, Ngaire retired in 1990 and built a home in Lake Havasu City, spending winters there for 25 years. Bill and Ngaire have been happily married for 72 years. He is survived by his loving wife and their many friends. Services were placed in the care of Lietz-Fraze funeral home and Crematory.
