Obituary of Carl P. Janke
Please share a memory of Carl to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
To all of the customers and friends, both old and new of Lake Havasu City, it is with a very heavy heart that I announce on June 19th the passing of my father, Carl P. Janke. He was 91 years young and a 38 year resident of Lake Havasu City; a town that he really loved and cared about.
Carl has been a bartender all over the Havasu area and retired from the Quality Inn in October of 2013. Prior to his life in Lake Havasu he lived in Wisconsin where he and his wife, Doris (whom preceded him in death) owned and operated several successful businesses. The last tavern they owned was Carl's Dutch Door in St. Germain, Wisconsin. He was a World War II Veteran who served 8 years in the US Navy and received two Honorable Discharges, several medals and ribbons for his service. He was a member of the Eagles, VFW, and the Elks; all in the Lake Havasu City area.
Carl was a friend to one and all and will be remembered for his wonderful sense of humor and good nature. He is beloved by his family and will be greatly missed every day.
Carl is survived by his two sons, Michael (Deborah) Janke of St. George, UT and Peter Janke of Mesa, AZ; brother, Edward (Eileen) Janke of Glendale, WI. He was the dear grandfather of Caitlin and Erin Janke, Megan Young and Jason Janke; great-grandfather of Addison Janke, Angelo and Gauge Orozco and Benjamin Janke; and his many friends here in Lake Havasu and Wisconsin.
