Obituary of Donald ANDRES

Donald Edward Andres, 72, passed away April 20, 2004 in Lake Havasu City, AZ. He was born to Edward and Anna (Emlinger) Andres on May 10, 1931 in Buffalo, NY.Donald and his wife spent winters in Lake Havasu and summers in Colorado Springs. Don touched many lives and enjoyed working hard all his life. A classic entrepreneur, Don started Colorado Manufacturing Technology (CMT) in 1978 in the basement of his house. He built it up to a work force of over 500 employees and sold it in 1988. In 1990, Don started another company, Nighthawk Industries, which also grew to over 500 employees and became well known for residential carbon monoxide alarms. Don eventually succeeded at retiring in 2001.Don was also a proud veteran in the US Air Force during the Korean Conflict.Don is survived by his beloved wife of 32 years, Betty; sons, John Andres of Chapel Hill, NC, Ed Andres of Colorado Springs, CO; daughters, Sharon Dobbs of Hawaii, Linda Doole of Colorado Springs, CO, Donna Sincavage of Las Vegas, NV; sisters, Jean Marie Mailhot of Ithaca, NY, Nancy Hilbrecht of Denver, CO and nine grandchildren.Don was preceded in by his sister, Margaret Mead.Memorial services will be held Tuesday, April 27, 3:00 PM at Holy Apostle in Colorado Springs, CO.In lieu of flowers, donations are requested to go to Hospice of Havasu, PO Box 597, Lake Havasu City, AZ 86405.Arrangements were entrusted to Lietz-Fraze Funeral Home & Crematory.
