Locatis family: Growing up I had many chance meetings with Bernice. She was usually blowing a whistle at me to sit down or shut up or to stop beating on that younger child. As I grew up, I got to know the family outside of the school sector and she turned out to not be so mean afterall. HAHA. I have fond memories of spending time with your family over the years and Bernice was always a part of it. She will be greatly missed. Love to you all.

I was fresh out of college and in my first position as a resource room teacher when I had the pleasure of working with Bernice. In those years IEP's were written at the beginning of the year, so Bernice was instrumental since I had never met any of the kids! Her knowledge and personality were a guiding force for me in the ten years we worked together. She was very talented in helping the students. If I was out I knew that everything would be handled! She will always hold a special place in my heart. Susie Wallace
