James Karson Ditslear passed away on October 22, 2015 at 67 years of age in Lake Havasu City. He was born to Harry and Lucille Ditslear on February 8, 1948 in Tiffin, Ohio. He met his wife in San Diego in 1992; it was love at first sight. They were married on June 5, 1999 in San Diego and shared 16 very, happy years.
James served in the U.S. Army; commissioned, 2nd LT/Infantry in March 1968, Vietnam 1st Calvary Div, Sept 1968-Sept. 1969. He enjoyed hunting and fishing. He loved to read. He created a gardening program for the inmates of the correctional facility he worked at in San Diego. He loved his family and his cats. He was a lifetime member of VFW, NRA and Ducks Unlimited.
James is survived by his father, Harry Ditslear of Lake Havasu City, AZ; wife, Elsie Ditslear of Lake Havasu City, AZ; daughter, Karen Ditslear of San Diego, CA; step-son, Merle Holtquist of Lake Havasu City; step-daughters, Julie Adams (Michael) of Everett, WA; Lisa De La Cruz (Edward) of San Antonio, TX, Marlene Kay of Fresno, CA; brother, Paul Ditslear of Louisville, KY; sisters, Jane Platt of Fort Wayne, IN, Diane Crowell (Roy) of Spokane, WA, Nancy Smith (Ned) of Fort Wayne, IN; 11 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his mother, Lucille La Mott; step-mother, Maxine Ditslear; step-father, Bob La Mott and brother, Brad Ditslear.
A funeral service will be held at Lietz-Fraze Funeral Home on Wednesday, October 28th at 2 pm.
