Paula Marley Scroggins to John D. Marley and Annie Mae Ryan Marley on April 12, 1925, Easter Sunday, in Henryetta, OK. She had 5 brothers and sisters which have all preceded her in death.
Paula passed away on January 19, 2016, in Lake Havasu City, AZ. She is survived by her son, David Scroggins (Angela) of Las Vegas and several nieces and nephews.
Paula grew up during the Great Depression and faced many hardships in Oklahoma before moving to Monterey Park, California, in 1942. She was eternally grateful for the opportunity to move. She graduated from Mark Keppel High School in 1944 and worked for Thermadore after graduation.
Paula married Clifton D. Scroggins on August 9, 1947 and they owned a home in Pico Rivera, CA. Their son David was born in 1949. Clifton's job required them to relocate often and she lived in Oakfield NY, Jacksonville FL, Kansas City MO and Chicago IL.
Paula went back to school while living in Jacksonville and became a Registered Nurse. She worked in various hospitals as they moved around the country. She also became a real estate agent in Chicago and continued that as a side job after retirement in retirement in Lake Havasu. They moved to Hemet, CA, in 1990 in order to be closer to relatives. After 54 years of marriage, Cliff passed away and in 2002 Paula returned to Lake Havasu where they had kept their first retirement home. She will be remembered by many for the love she had for her little dogs and for reading the email jokes at the Senior Center exercise class. She was a member of St Michael's Methodist Church.
A memorial service will be at Lietz-Fraze Funeral Home at a later date. She will be laid to rest with Cliff in Rose Hills Cemetery, Whittier, CA.
