my friend Paula....oh so many years ago she and Cliff and Davy came to my hometown of Oakfield in the middle of the winter and the western New York snow..
our family loved them so much...we loved that she would make lasagne and salad and have us all to dinner...we, with 4 little ones...there were always Chocolate Chip cookies at her house...she made them for Davy each week. We did hat luncheon, strawberry festivals, chicken bar-b-ques....Cliff sang in Choir...i was 28 and Cliff was 40...one day someone asked me who that man was in the choir and i said oh, that is that new older man..Cliff Scroggins...Cliff loved that he was an older man...Paula laughed so hard...I collected glass bottles and Paula liked to paint...i still have the painting on the wall that she did of a lot of my bottles...it is purple, and all shades of blue and green...i'm glad that i have it to remind me of my friend. a few years ago, i flew in for two days to be with Paula and i have such great memories of those days..we walked her little dog and talked and talked about our times together in Oakfield and how we kept in touch...we visited them in CA when they moved back there to be near friends...Paula told me of the times that she and Cliff and Jonny and Madeline and others would bring picnics on the CA side of Lake Havasu when it was not a city yet...Paula sent me some Oakfield things that she had found...i love having them...Paula and Cliff loved to go to sales when they were in Oakfield and got a bit of furniture that was still in their home when i visited...she was a dear long time friend and i will miss knowing she is there ...but she was with people who cared for her...Dolly and then Davy and Angela she told me how much she loved and was thankful for them...God Bless you all and i know that HE did with this precious soul who as they say...."What we have left behind is the only thing we can take with us when we die, and Paula left a lot...Rest in Peace Friend...till we meet again..
