Larry Allen Darkow passed away January 1, 2012 in Lake Havasu City, AZ at the age of 66. He was born to Arnold and Corrine (Stage) Darkow on February 23, 1945 in Minneapolis, MN.
Larry proudly served under the direction of the United States Army, serving twelve years during the Vietnam Conflict. He was awarded the Vietnam Service Medal, Vietnam Campaign Medal and the Bronze Star Medal, among other medals. He married his beloved bride, Audrey Marie Norton on December 2, 1994. Larry was one of the founding members of the POW MIA Rolling Thunder Run to the Wall in 1987 and 1988. He loved to play poker and do magic for the kids. Larry was a good father and grandfather and a wonderful husband.
Larry leaves behind his wife of 17 years, Audrey M. Darkow; three sons, Stephen Kowny and his wife Ana, Peter Kowny and his wife Mary and Joe Porter; two daughters, Jolene Porter and Kimberley Vanasse; six grandchildren and one great grandchild.
A private service and celebration of Larry's life was held at the family home.
