Obituary of Laurel Yecoshenko
Please share a memory of Laurel to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Laurel Yecoshenko, 75, passed away on December 18, 2015 at his home in Lake Havasu City, Arizona. He was born to Edward and Mabel Yecoshenko on May 17, 1940 in Minot, North Dakota. He was wed to Virginia Mentis in 1958. They were happily married for 57 years. Soon after being married they moved to sunny, warm California. He owned and operated his own printing company (Cal-Continental) for 27 years in La Habra, CA. After moving to Lake Havasu City he worked for Bradley Ford and Bradley Chevrolet from 2001-2015. He and his wife truly enjoyed driving and transporting cars for dealer trades.
Laurel enjoyed being outdoors. In the 1960's-1970's he made several deep-sea fishing trips. When his children were young, as a family they began going to the desert and rode dirt bikes. Later he had a street motorcycle and went on many road trips on his own and with friends. He also had an appreciation for classic cars and music.
Laurel was a master craftsman with great mechanical skills. Every project he did was with quality, pride and perfection.
He also loved working in the yard and was especially proud of his beautiful date palms. His two best buddies were his cats, Jeff and Henry and they brought him much happiness.
Laurel is survived by his wife, Virginia Yecoshenko of Lake Havasu City; son, Grant Yecoshenko (Kathy) of Temecula, CA; daughter, Kim Yecoshenko of Fullerton, CA; grandchildren, Rachelle Zeiders (Rob), Kyle, Collin and Sophia Yecoshenko and great-grandchildren, Wyatt, Cash, Hank and Huck Zeiders and Ryder and Brookyn Yecoshenko.
Laurel would want his friends and family to know that he was a Christian and looked forward to heaven.
