John (Jack) Swets passed away on March 30, 2012 in Lake Havasu City, AZ at the age of 75. He was born October 12, 1936 in Haines, AK to John W. & Gertrude Swets. He attended public school and graduated in Timnath, CO. Jack spent most of his life working on the family farm. Jack and his brother Bill were founders of the Timnath Fire Dept, Presbyterian Church where he sang in the choir. Jack married the love of his life wife Marjorie Ream in 1986 and resided in Timnath until retiring and relocating in Lake Havasu City, AZ. Jack was a member of Mt. Olive Lutheran Church, Lake Havasu Yacht Club, BPOE Elks #2399, Eagles and Gem & Mineral Society. He enjoyed being a Ham radio operator, creating beautiful works of art with metal & wood, landscaping design, boating, jeeping in the desert, rock hunting and hauling. He also enjoyed airplanes, history, reading, telling jokes & stories, but most of all he enjoyed riding the Colorado hills & trails on his Gold Wing motorcycle. Jack is survived by his loving family, his wife Marjorie Swets; daughters Marjorie Casteel and Caroline Rose; son Robert Swets; three step sons Michael Penner, Russell Penner and Douglas Penner; 5 grandchildren; 2 step grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren; brother William Swets; Sister Angeline Swets and numerous nieces & nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and grandparents. A memorial service will be held at Mt. Olive Lutheran Church at 1:00 PM on Thursday April 5, 2012 with words of comfort from Pastor Jim Price. Memorial can be given in Jack's name to New Hope Hospice 500 N.
