Obituary of Mary Rehl

MARY JANE REHL 11/12/1927 - 4/12/2012 Mary Jane Rehl, age 84 passed away peacefully on Thursday, April 12, 2012 with her daughter by her side. Born the middle child to Thomas & Martha Price on November 12, 1927 in Memphis Tennessee Mary Jane would not let her eventual disabilities slow her down. Stricken with polio in 1953 she became wheelchair bound for the next 58 years. She never let that chair stop her from anything she wanted to do. After moving from California to Lake Havasu City in 1971 she worked for Les Galst at Londonderry Realty until his retirement and then for Classic Realty. In 1988 she began to volunteer at the Senior Center and did so for 8 years before becoming the Office Assistant, a position she held for the past 15 years. She loved her work and she loved the people. She was truly blessed with an abundance of friends. She was an inspiration to many and loved by all. Mary Jane is survived by her daughter & son-in-law, Lynda & Mark Benshoof of Lake Havasu City; her son, Thomas Pilcher of Maricopa, CA; her grandsons, Shane of Lake Havasu City, Taylor of Olympia, WA and Lance of Seattle; her beloved sister, Martha Adkerson of Memphis and her ex-husband and friend Ted Rehl of Lake Havasu City. A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, April 28, 2012 at 11:00 am at the Lake Havasu Senior Center, 450 S Acoma. In lieu of flowers the family requests you make a donation to the Lake Havasu Meals on Wheels Program or Hospice of Havasu in her name.
