DARREL GENE WILLIAMS
Darrel G. Williams passed away on Sunday April 15, 2012 in Lake Havasu City with his family by his side. Darrel was born on August 5, 1936 in Deadwood, SD to Clarence John and Mary Jane Williams.
Darrel was raised in California and graduated from Hemet High School where he excelled in all sports. In 1955 Darrel enlisted in the United States Air Force, proudly serving his country until 1958.
Darrel lived in Alta, UT; Red Lodge, MT; Aspen, CO; and Tahoe, NV. While living in these mountain areas he worked as a ski instructor and for the ski patrol. While living in Tahoe he received his Bachelors Degree in Civil Engineering at the University of Nevada, Reno.
In September of 1980, Darrel married hi wife Birgee, they lived in Tahoe until 1984, then made Lake Havasu City their permanent home.
Darrel worked as an engineer for 28 years in Lake Havasu City. He was a member of the London Bridge Golf Club where he spent days playing, always walking and carrying his clubs. You could never get him in a cart. He also enjoyed watching his grandchildren play in numerous sports.
Darrel is survived by his loving wife Birgee of Lake Havasu City; step sons Gary Behmer and his wife Sooty of Flagstaff, AZ, Bob Behmer and his wife Gail of Sedona, AZ and Joe Behmer and his wife Jennifer of Lake Havasu City, AZ; sisters Johanna Cox and Sharon Williams as well as ten grandchildren and seventeen great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents.
A celebration of Darrel's life will be held on Friday April 20, 2012 at 2:00 PM at Lietz-Fraze Chapel. Military honors will be rendered by American Legion Post 81 and VFW Post 9401.
