Margie A. Young Born to Frank Johnson and Jocie (Booe) Johnson as the last of their four children on January 9, 1938, Margie grew up in El Cajon, California. She graduated from high school and went on to become a beautician. Margie and Bruce Lee Young married on July 20, 1963. Their first child, Lisa Ann Young was stillborn on November 14, 1964. Their son, Michael Lee Young, was born on July 1, 1969. Margie was a Navy wife and the family lived in several locations across the U.S. over the years until settling in Lake Havasu City in 1988 after Bruce retired. Two grandchildren were born to their son, Michael. Christopher Lee Young was raised in Lake Havasu City. Christopher is a Staff Sergeant in the United States Air Force and is deployed overseas. Annabelle Marie Young is 11 years old and resides with her father, Michael and his wife Tia in Bradford, Illinois. For those of us who knew Margie best, she will be remembered for her outgoing personality. She was a true friend with relationships dating back to her school years. Margie was very talented in sewing and crafts and loved to decorate her home for every holiday with the things she made. Margie loved babies, and she would tell you that to hold a baby was one of life's joys. She collected many things that depicted cats and cats were her favorite pet. Bingo and lunches with friends were special to her and she and Bruce would often travel to attend antique and craft shows to add to their collections. Margie passed away on April 1, 2014 after being in failing health for several years. Chaplain Sandra Johnson of Hospice of Havasu, who was also a personal friend and neighbor, recently Baptized Margie. Chaplain Johnson provided spiritual guidance and prayers during her last days and also to family members at the private service. Besides her son and grandchildren, Margie is survived by several cousins, nieces and nephews. Her nephew, David R. Johnson Sr. and his wife, Stevie, live here in Lake Havasu City. Margie was the last surviving member of her family. She will be missed very much by those of us who knew and loved her.
