Obituary of Gerald Baird

Gerald (Jerry) Baird, 83, passed away July 20 2012, at home in Lake Havasu City, AZ. He was born October 31, 1928 in Freeport, IL to Charles and Helen Baird and attended schools in Freeport. Jerry is survived by his wife of 28 yrs. Paula (the love of his life and best friend), daughter and son-in-law Nancy and Sandy MacCuish of Santa Maria, CA, son Ken Baird of Riverside, CA, son Carl Baird of San Dimas, CA, 7 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren and 2 nephews. Jerry retired from the Los Angeles City Fire Department in 1980 and the IATSE Local 33 Stagehand Union (TV Studios) in Burbank, CA in 1991 and was proud of the fact that he had worked on the Lawrence Welk Show where he had a hand in constructing the bubble machine and chandeliers. One of the last shows he was involved with was Married With Children. He moved to Lake Havasu City from Los Angeles in 1991 to retire in one of his favorite places, where his hobbies included boating, RVing, restoring older cars and he is a member of the Lake Havasu Yacht Club. A memorial service will be held September 15, 2012, 3 pm at Lietz-Fraze Funeral Home with a celebration of life at the home afterwards.
