Obituary of Jerry Lynn Curlee

Jerry Lynn Curlee, 69, passed away on December 30, 2015 in Lake Havasu City, Arizona. He was born to John and LaVerne Curlee on November 14, 1946 in Artesia, California. He was wed to Christine Louise Shanahan on April 14, 1973 in Downey, California; they were married for 42 years. Jerry graduated from Huntington Beach High in 1966. He was raised in Southern California, settled in Brea, California in 1979 where he raised his family and lived for 30 years. He was employed in maintenance and fabrication for over 40 years and retired from Bristol Industries in Brea, California in 2010 and retired to Lake Havasu City in 2010. Jerry enjoyed NASCAR, surfing, boating, fishing, off-roading, and being on the lake with family and friends. In his retirement, he developed a love of reading historical military books. He was a veteran having served in the U.S. Army and earned a National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Campaign Medal and Vietnam Service Medal. He was always up for a trip to the casino, whether it was across the lake or up to Laughlin. Nothing was more important to Jerry than his wife, kids and grandkids. To him, friends were family and his door was always open. He was generous to all and had a special sense of humor that everybody who knew him loved. Jerry is survived by his wife, Christine Curlee of Lake Havasu City, AZ; daughters, Lori Croston of Poway, CA, Julie Shaver of Corona, CA; sister, Kay West of Lake Havasu, AZ and 5 grandchildren.
