I first met Jim and Diane through Carole. Their kids and ours went to Creighton school and both Carole and Diane were active in the Women’s Auxiliary. They became instant friends. Carole decided that I should meet Jim and Diane and invited them to our house for barbecue. The reaction between Jim and I was at first somewhat restrained and we let the girls do the talking. We didn’t seem to have much in common, Jim was a heavy equipment operator, but also a true cowboy with a varied background, whereas I was a migrant from England, working at Motorola in electronics. Time to cook the steaks, and I had no starter fluid so I poured gasoline on the charcoal stood back and tossed a lit match.
Whomps!!
Jim laughed and that was the beginning of a relationship that lasted for their lifetimes. What wonderful times Carole and I shared with Jim and Diane.

Jim loved visiting he and Dianne. He made a bit for my horse Shotsi that changed her forever. Loved his stories when I visited. He was a handsome cowboy.
I regret not visiting him more often. Always felt so welcomed. Windmill Ranches will miss him dearly.
Love you Jim. Julie McNeary - Purple Rose Ranch.
