Obituary of Herbert Allen Hedin
Please share a memory of Herbert to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Herbert (Herb) Allen Hedin, passed away on February 21, 2024, at his home in Kingman, AZ at the age of 75 due to issues with his health.
Herb was born in Milaca, MN on April 18, 1948, to Walter and Arlene (Olson) Hedin. Herb went to school in Bock through grade 6 and then 7 through 12 in Milaca, graduating with the class of 1966. Herb married his high school sweetheart and best friend, Diane (Dinny Stewart) on October 28, 1968, and the two have been inseparable ever since. They have two daughters Deanne (DeeDee) and Heidi.
Herb had a true craft and passion for building and fixing just about anything he set his mind to and was always ready for a new challenge. Herb was also known for his great storytelling and custom made birthday cards that people cherish to this day. In 1996 Herb and Diane went to Arizona to visit some friends and fell in love with the desert, so they packed up and made Arizona their home. There they have worked on many projects together, lended a hand to anyone in need and made good memories with family and friends. Herb has touched many lives and those that knew him will never forget him. Herb was most proud of his family and the lasting friendships he made through AA with 42 years of sobriety.
Herb is survived by his wife of 55 years, Diane (Stewart), daughters, Deanne (Wayne) Koscielniak, and Heidi Hedin. Grandchildren, Kris, Kasi, Kayla, Blake, and Madi (Adrian) Reynoso. Sisters, Lori Helie and Lois Kramer. Sisters-in-law, Judy Stewart and Joanne Stewart.
Herb was preceded in death by his parents, Walter and Arlene Hedin, brothers-n-law, Bob Helie, Mike Kramer, Dick Stewart, Bob Stewart, Pat McAlister, and sister-in-law, Celie McAlister.
