In loving Memory of Evelyn Claryne Willey Aug 3, 1940 - Jan 26, 2024 Evelyn Claryne Willey, affectionately known as Ma-Maw, peacefully passed away on January 26, 2024, at the age of 83. Born on August 3, 1940, in Talihina, Oklahoma, Evelyn brought joy and warmth to all who knew her. Evelyn's journey was marked by love, laughter, and cherished memories. She graduated from Lynwood High School in 1958 and pursued her passion for cosmetology, attending Marinello Cosmetology in Long Beach, California in 1959. On January 28, 1961, she married the love of her life, Donald Willey, in Lynwood, California, and together they built a beautiful life filled with love and devotion. Throughout her life, Evelyn found joy in simple pleasures. She had a fondness for Elvis Presley, enjoyed the excitement of casinos, and found solace in the art of quilting. However, her greatest source of happiness was her family, especially her sons, Jeffery Dean Willey and John Charles Willey, whom she loved dearly. Evelyn's love for her family extended beyond her immediate relatives. She had a special bond with her sister, Sharon Marie Sorensen, and cherished the moments spent with her nieces and nephews, including Charley Pearce, Tara Sorensen, Jason Pearce, Steven Pearce, Susan Fields, Merlyn Pearce, Dana Bellenger, Preston Pearce, Becky Pearce, and Susan Pearce. Evelyn was known for her unwavering love and affection, her comforting presence, and her signature phrase, "Jeff, don't do that!" which echoed through the halls of her home. She had a heart as sweet as her favorite treat—ice cream—and her love knew no bounds. Evelyn was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Donald J. Willey, fondly known as "Grumpy," her parents, Charlie Pearce and Esther Pearce, and her siblings, Merle Pearce, Earl Pearce, Glen Pearce, and Dale Pearce. Though Evelyn may have left this world, her spirit will forever live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved her. May she rest in eternal peace, reunited with her beloved husband, Donald, and may her memory continue to bring comfort and solace to those who mourn her loss.
