Obituary of Jeannine Louise Isaacs

Please share a memory of Jeannine to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
In loving memory of Jeannine Isaacs March 2, 1945 - February 9, 2023 Jeannine Louise Isaacs (Merrill), born on March 2, 1945, in Gainesville, Florida, to parents June Merrill (Reichart) and Egbert MacArthur Merrill. After a battle with end-stage kidney failure, she peacefully passed away on February 9, 2023, leaving behind a legacy of love and cherished memories. Completing her education, Jeannine graduated from high school and pursued further studies at California State University of Long Beach. She then embarked on a meaningful career as an interpreter for the deaf at Los Alamitos High School California for several years. It was during her time there that she crossed paths with her future husband, Edward Martin Isaacs. Their fortunate encounter occurred during a school picnic event, igniting a love story that would span four decades. Ed, a dedicated math teacher who had earned his master's degree from Cal State Berkeley, shared Jeannine's passion for adventure and exploration. They married on July 6, 1975, at Temple Beth Hillel in North Hollywood, Ca. Together, they traversed the globe, relishing the marvels of different cultures and landscapes. However, Disneyland held a special place in their hearts, where they found joy working part-time amidst the magic, adding to their treasury of cherished memories. Their journey led them to settle in Placentia, California, where they established a warm and loving home. Despite their contentment, they yearned to share their abundant love with children. Thus, they embarked on the beautiful journey of adoption. Welcoming their first baby boy, Carey Andrew Isaacs, in June 1979, their hearts overflowed with love and were overjoyed with their lives as new parents and creating bigger memories together. Determined to complete their family, they joyously adopted another baby boy, Ryan David Isaacs, in July 1981. With her newfound role as a devoted stay-at-home mom, Jeannine poured her heart and soul into nurturing her growing family. The Isaacs household brimmed with love and activity, as they embraced life's adventures with delight. From youth soccer and T-ball to Cub Scouts, Boy Scouts, and roller hockey, to many other extracurricular activities, their days as a family of four were filled with laughter and camaraderie. Their joy multiplied with the arrival of their granddaughter, Katelyn, in October 2007. Jeannine and Ed reveled in the boundless love and happiness that little baby Kate brought into their lives. Cherishing every moment spent with their beloved grandbaby- whom Kate had both "Grandma and Poppa" wrapped in her tiny delicate finger. After 43 years of laughter, tears, triumphs, and challenges in their cherished Placentia home, Jeannine, Katelyn, and Carey embarked on a fresh chapter, settling in Lake Havasu City, Az. There, Jeannine found solace in the tranquil beauty of the Havasu skies and majestic purple-hued mountains, savoring the serenity of her final years. Jeannine is preceded in death by her loving parents, her devoted husband and best friend Ed, and her beloved son Ryan. She leaves behind her cherished son Carey and adored granddaughter Katelyn, who will forever carry her memory in their hearts. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations to be made to Fresenius Kidney Care in Lake Havasu City and DaVita Brea Dialysis Center in Brea, California, in honor of Jeannine and to give warm thanks as they have been so good with Jeannine during her treatments. She will be remembered as a witty, humorous, mother and grandmother who enjoyed music, long talks, and musicals. As hard as your final years have been, you were always a blessing.
