Obituary of Jeanne Robey

Please share a memory of Jeanne to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Jeanne Robey, 91 full years old, of Blackfoot, Idaho, passed away peacefully in her home in Lake Havasu City, Arizona on January 27, 2024, surrounded by her loved ones. She was known as Jeanne, Dee Dee, and Grandma Dee Dee by those who loved her. She was known for her wit and wisdom and loved her family more than anything. Jeanne/Dee Dee/Grandma Dee Dee loved to laugh, shop, and cook. She was always thoughtful and would give you the shirt off her back. Jeanne retired in 1998 after just shy of 40 years at the Daily News (formerly The Valley News and Green Sheet) in Woodland Hills, CA. She enjoyed dancing the night away with her friends. While retired, Jeanne had more time to spend with her family and extended family. Jeanne was predeceased by her mother, Marie Rumble on January 15, 2001, father, Vernon Rumble, on April 9, 1987, sister, Marlene Risse, on March 9, 1990, and daughter, Christi Robey who died at birth. She is survived by her children, Gary Johnson (Soraya), Curt Johnson (Ella), Lori Doerfler (Frank), and Cyndi Eden (Joe), her grandchildren, Kristin Johnson, Mary Johnson, Alissa Macias (Rawley), Josh Robey, Travis Doerfler (Madisen), Jared Smith, Christi Smith, Tacie Johnson, and Maison Johnson, and great grandchildren, Nathan Macias, Levi Macias, and Leighton Doerfler. The family will be celebrating her life with a low-key dinner together in Jeanne’s family style. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to Western Arizona Humane Society as she loved all the fur babies she adopted over the years. We hope you are dancing the night away in Heaven! “God saw she was getting tired. And a cure was not to be. So, He put His arm around her. And whispered “Come with Me.” With tearful eyes we watched her suffer And saw her fade away. Although we loved her dearly We could not make her stay. A golden heart stopped beating. Hardworking hands to rest God broke our hearts to prove to us. He only takes the best.” ~Frances and Kathleen Coelho
