Obituary of Janice Marie Maiden

Janice Marie Maiden, 86, of Lake Havasu City, Arizona, passed away peacefully on January 4th, 2024, in Goodyear, AZ, surrounded by family and loved ones. She was born on July 25, 1937, in Torrington, Wyoming, to Samuel Spencer Matlock and Myrtle (Bramwell) Matlock. Janice married Albert Earl Lind in December of 1956, and together they had three daughters: Deborah Elaine, Pamela Diane, and Cindy Jo. She spent most of her life living in western Nebraska, Wyoming, and Northern Colorado, where she worked as an optometrist's assistant. After the death of Albert in 1989, she moved to Windsor, Colorado, and remarried Mike Denny. They spent many years there until they retired in 2001 and moved to Lake Havasu City, Arizona. After Mike’s passing in 2012, she stayed in Lake Havasu, enjoying her retirement. She remarried David Tommy Maiden and spent the following years with friends and helping grow several new churches, until his passing in 2022. Janice enjoyed the help and company of David’s daughter, Kathy Saldana, and her children and grandchildren who remained in the Havasu area. Those who knew Jan (and there are many) will tell you she was such a good-hearted person that would always light up the room. Even at 86 years old, she would still do everything she wanted, even painting the bathroom when she was told not to! She is survived by her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren: Chantell (Ziegler) and Matt Long of Turlock, CA, and their two children; Mindy (Kubo) and Sam Jones of Fort Collins, CO, and their two children; Shawna (Kubo) and Jeremiah Bircheat of Texas, and their four children; Kristin (Kubo) and Will Mann of Carrollton, Texas, and their one child; Christopher Howard and Jamee, and their two children; Michael Howard and Janna, and their three children; Dustin Lind and Kimberly , and their four children. She is preceded in death by her sister Carol and daughter Cindy Jo. Janice’s service will be held at Lake Havasu Church of the Nazarene, 2700 Rainbow Ave N, Lake Havasu City, AZ 86403, on February 10th at 11:00 AM. This will be a gathering of remembrance for anyone who knew Jan. All are welcome. Potluck lunch to follow.​
