Larry D. Olson October 26, 1936 - October 8, 2023 Larry D. Olson, a loving father, grandfather, and dedicated electrician, passed away on October 8, 2023, after a courageous battle with dementia. Born in Coeur d'Alene, Idaho, Larry lived a life filled with adventure, hard work, and the joy of family. He left behind a legacy that will be cherished by those who knew and loved him. Growing up in Minot, N.D., Larry graduated from Minot High School and later served in the Army, exemplifying his commitment to duty and service. Following his military service, he pursued his passion for the electrical trade, attending trade school and becoming a skilled electrician with Local 417. Larry's career took him to various states, and he played a crucial role in the construction of the Boeing facility in Everett, WA, leaving an indelible mark on the landscape. Larry's work extended to power plants across Wash, California, Nevada, and Arizona, showcasing his dedication and expertise. His industrious spirit and commitment to his craft earned him the respect and admiration of colleagues and friends. Upon retirement, Larry relocated to Apache Junction, AZ, until health challenges prompted his move to Sedro Wooley, WA, where his children lovingly cared for him. A proud member of the American Legion for many years, Larry found camaraderie and connection within the organization. Beyond his professional pursuits, Larry was known for his love of tinkering with anything that needed attention, but it was gambling that brought him great joy and excitement. Larry is survived by his six children: Todd Olson, Ricky Olson, Marlin Olson, Elisa Ohlemeier (Richard), Laurie Peters, and Tammy Reinstra (Ted). He leaves behind a legacy of 12 grandchildren and great-grandchildren, including Jillian, Ryan, Amy, Sara, Paul, Noah, Alyssa, Chris, Chrystal, Nickolas, Brandy, Tyler, and Tyson. Larry is also remembered by his brother Curtis Olson (Sue), sister Marlene and her late husband, Edward Benson, and numerous nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his mother, Myrtle Lee Reardon. Larry will be deeply missed by friends, relatives, and family. A memorial service to celebrate Larry's life will take place on May 24th at 11AM at Rosehill Memorial Cemetery in Minot, North Dakota, located at 700 11th Ave SE, Minot, ND 58701, where he will be laid to rest. A banquet will be held at the Comfort Inn Suites 601 22nd Ave SW Minot, ND directly after his service. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions to the American Legion in North Dakota, honoring Larry's longstanding commitment to the organization he held dear. May he rest in peace, and his memory live on in the hearts of those who knew him.
