Obituary of Dan Arnado

Daniel Arnado Dec. 6, 1935 – Jan. 14, 2024 Daniel Arnado, (Dan), was born in NYC, NY and the son of Paul and Betty Arnado. He lived with his parents and sister Norma until his senior year of high school when they moved to San Fransisco. Dan enlisted in the United States Marine Corps in 1954. He served three tours of duty in Vietnam and retired after 20 years of service with the rank of Gunnery Sergeant. He was a Marine through and through. He would say “Once a Marine Always a Marine” - Oohrah! Dan and his beloved wife, Nancy Arnado, were married 32 years. During their relationship they loved to travel, camp in their RVs, go off-roading with the 4-Wheel Club and spend time with family and friends. He was a wonderful storyteller and love to share his life experiences. Dan also loved to cook for family and friends. He loved to cook all types, but Filipino food was one of his specialties. Nancy and Dan lived in San Diego until they moved to Lake Havasu City in 2002 when they retired. He was active in the Marine Corps League Detachment 757. He held numerous positions including Commandant twice and was very active in the Color Guard. He also volunteered with the DAV where he assisted veterans with applying for benefits. Dan had three children, Daniel and wife Jackie, Leonard, and Wendy and husband Thomas, two stepchildren, Tracy and wife Karan and Lora. Eight grandchildren Tim, Kim, Thomas Mark, Joshua, Chanel, Jenna, Jessica, Justin and 14 great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by his parents Paul and Betty Arnado, sister Norma and daughters Wendy and Lora. Survived by his wife of 32 years, Nancy Arnado, children: Daniel, Leonard, Tracy and Karan, 8 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. A Celebration of Dan’s life is scheduled for Friday, January 26, 2024, at the Elks Lodge #2399 at 11:00 am. Guests arrive at 10:30 am. The Lodge is located at 3532 McCulloch Blvd. N. in Lake Havasu City AZ 86406.
