Obituary of Duane Callicoat
Please share a memory of Duane to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Duane Oliver Callicoat, a beloved soul who graced this world on July 19, 1942, in Stigler, Oklahoma, bid farewell to his earthly journey on January 9, 2024. Duane's life was a testament to hard work, love, and an unwavering appreciation for the simple joys.
Duane found his roots in Lawndale, where he completed his education at Lawndale High School, creating cherished memories and lifelong friendships. His professional journey led him to dedicate two decades of his life to McCulloch, from 1963 to 1983, where he left a mark of dedication and integrity.
In the summer of 2002, Duane embarked on a beautiful journey of companionship, marrying the love of his life, Sharon Lauree Schaan, on June 29. Their union was a testament to enduring love and partnership that enriched the lives of those around them.
Duane's zest for life extended beyond the confines of the workplace. He found solace and joy in the great outdoors, with a passion for camping, fishing, and gardening. His heart resonated with the melodies of country music, a soundtrack that accompanied him through the various chapters of his life.
Throughout his life's journey, Duane called different places home, leaving a piece of his heart in Lawndale, Sun Lakes, New Mexico, and Lake Havasu City. Each location held special memories and experiences that contributed to the mosaic of his rich and fulfilling life.
Duane is survived by his devoted spouse, Lauree Callicoat, and his loving children, Steve Callicoat and Michelle Callicoat Cyr. His legacy continues through the laughter and love of his seven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren, who will forever carry the warmth of his spirit in their hearts.
As we bid farewell to Duane Oliver Callicoat, let us remember him not with tears of sorrow, but with smiles that mirror the joy he brought into our lives. May his soul find eternal peace, and may his memory live on in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to share in the tapestry of his remarkable life.
