In Loving Memory of Melvyn Keith Brothers
August 4, 1960 - November 4, 2023
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Melvyn Keith Brothers, affectionately known as Mel, on November 4, 2023. Born on August 4, 1960, to Darl Elroy Brothers and Darlene Zebley.
Mel attended El Camino High School in 1978. He was a man of many talents, exemplifying this spirit when he and his brother Jeff founded B&B Doors and Windows in 1996, a testament to their shared dedication and craftsmanship.
On August 4, 1989, Mel married the love of his life, Cheryl Ann Smith, in Las Vegas, Nevada. Their union was a source of unwavering support and love, as they built a life together in Reseda, California. Mel's commitment to family was evident in every aspect of his life, and he cherished the time spent with his wife.
Mel's hands were never idle; he found joy in the art of creation. Whether it was crafting cutting boards, collecting wood planers, or skillfully renovating homes, Mel's hands brought beauty and functionality to everything he touched. His pursuit of knowledge was boundless, and he continued to learn and master new skills every day, truly embodying the spirit of a jack of all trades.
Mel and Cheryl created countless memories in their vacation home in Lake Havasu City, Arizona. Mel's love for the community and the people around him was evident in the friendships he cultivated and the warmth he brought to every gathering.
Melvyn Keith Brothers is preceded in death by his parents, Darl Elroy Brothers and Darlene Zebley, and his brother Todd Brothers. He is survived by his devoted wife Cheryl Ann Brothers, his stepson Tim Thompson, his brother Jeff Brothers, his sister Michelle Fuertes, and his two cherished grandchildren.
