Jerry Ray Crouthers, born on November 25, 1940, in Overland Park, Kansas, peacefully departed this world on December 12, 2023. He was the beloved son of Lula and William Crouthers. He leaves behind a legacy of love, dedication, and service. Jerry's life journey was marked by remarkable achievements and unwavering commitment. For 20 1/2 years, he served his country with honor as an airman in the United States Air Force, earning accolades such as the Air Force Commendation Medal and the National Defense Medal. Post-retirement, Jerry continued his dedication to excellence, contributing his skills to Lockheed Martin at Vandenberg AFB in California and Circon Environmental in Santa Barbara, CA. He also enjoyed volunteering his time for humanitarian missions such as home construction with Habitat for Humanity in Mexico and California, and was a regular cook at the Aid Association for Lutheran BBQ’s. His work ethic and passion for service extended beyond his military career. On June 8, 1963, Jerry married the love of his life, Martha, in Kansas City, Missouri. Together, they celebrated 60 years of marriage, creating a lifetime of cherished memories. Jerry found joy in the simple pleasures of life, whether it was spending time with family, playing golf with friends, bowling, or embarking on adventures across the globe with Martha by his side. A man of diverse experiences, Jerry's journey took him from his roots in Kansas City to various Air Force bases across the United States, finally retiring to Vanderberg Village, California. In 2014, he embraced a new chapter in Lake Havasu City, Arizona, where he became an active member of the Lamb of God Lutheran Church. He actively pursued a close relationship with Christ throughout his lifetime and knew the great joy of his presence. Jerry's love extends beyond his earthly presence, surviving in the hearts of his devoted wife Martha, son Keanon Crouthers (Sara), daughters Jodine Crouthers (Danny Bence) and Melissa Smith (Jeffery), and cherished grandchildren Tynessa Radtke, Meagan Stevens, Cameron Crouthers, Alana Crouthers, and Daniel Smith. He is preceded in death by his parents, William and Lula Crouthers, and his brothers Richard Crouthers and Joe Crouthers. Jerry Ray Crouthers will be deeply missed, but his legacy of love, service and adventure will live on in the hearts of those who had the privilege of knowing him. A memorial service will be held at 1:00 pm on March 1, 2024 at the Lamb of God Church, 2791 Inca Drive, Lake Havasu City, AZ.
