Obituary of Gary Dean Reeve

Gary Dean Reeve, 76, passed away November 10, 2023, in Lake Havasu City, AZ surrounded by family. He was born in Prineville, Oregon on November 30, 1946. Gary’s family moved to La Grande, Oregon where he graduated from High School. Gary enlisted in the Navy and traveled throughout the Pacific. In 1973, he met Dianna Taylor at the Sumpter, 4th of July dance. It was love at first sight! He studied Diesel Mechanics at Blue Mountain College. On November 17th, 1973, he and Dianna married and resided in Baker City, Oregon. He was a member of the First Lutheran Church. Gary was delighted when his daughter Heather was born and was a devoted father. Gary and Dianna became “Snowbirds” and spent winters in Lake Havasu City. He looked forward to going to Arizona to meet up with friends. Gary liked visiting casinos to try his luck. For years, Gary would take family/friends fishing. For several years, he, Dianna and his brother took his boat to Canada to bring back fish and crab. He was a member of bowling leagues in Lake Havasu City and Baker City. In the summer, he looked forward to spending time with family. Family and friends were important! He could play for hours on his Kindle. Gary was preceded in death by his parents Oliver and Wilma Reeve. He is survived by his loving wife Dianna Reeve, daughter Heather Leavell (Dan)of San Diego, three siblings, Terry Reeve of Pendleton Oregon, Judy Dodd (Robert) of Pueblo, Colorado, Susan Yen (Kenny)of Baker City, Oregon and numerous nieces and nephews. At Gary’s request, there will not be a funeral/memorial. Contributions in his memory, can be made to The Parkinson’s Foundation or the American Diabetes Association. The family thanked the caregivers and friends who were a vital part of his life.
