Please share a memory of Bryan to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Richard Bryan de Hertoghe, known to his friends and family as “Bryan” passed away on November 03, 2023, at the age of 81 in the comfort of his home located in Lake Havasu City, Arizona. Bryan was born in Bell, California on September 19, 1942, to parents William Clifford de Hertoghe and Sophia Lopez.
Bryan met his loving partner, Beverly Gail Brooks and have been by each other’s side for 48 wonderful years. They raised their blended family together and built many magical memories along the way of their life adventure.
Bryan enjoyed taking his family camping at the mountains and the beach and then they would go ocean fishing on the pier; but not until his children finished their homework first. Bryan enjoyed cooking; a talent he picked up from his mother, Sophie. He would cook for the entire family and a favorite was his famous “super tacos”. He enjoyed watching baseball and football, teaching his kids about the sport. Bryan had strong family values and really enjoyed spending time with his family whom he held dearest to his heart.
Bryan attended barber college in Hollywood, Ca. and was good at cutting hair, which inspired his daughter, Andrea, to attend beauty school. He was owner of his business; American Fire Extinguisher Company located in California. He and Beverly operated the business where they sold fire extinguishers to hospitals and schools. After moving to Lake Havasu City in 1992, Bryan worked at St. Vincent and Goodwill donation centers after his retirement from his business. He will always be remembered as a hardworking, selfless, and standup man who was a great provider with honorable values and greeted people with a humble smile and respect.
Bryan is preceded in death by his parents; William Sophia, sister; Darlene, and brothers; Bill and Ron.
He is survived by his life partner; Beverly, daughter; Andrea Kay, sons; Douglas, William, Zachary Brooks and Joshua de Hertoghe, brother; Wayne, 14 grandchildren, and 16 great-grandchildren.
