Andrew Louis Kuntz, Jr.
October 26, 1927 – October 23, 2023
Andrew Louis Kuntz, Jr., known to his friends and family as Andy, passed away on October 23, 2023, at the age of 95 in Lake Havasu City, Arizona, just 3 days shy of his 96th birthday.
Andy was born in Canton, Ohio on October 26, 1927, to parents Andrew Louis Kuntz, Sr. and Catherine Kuntz (Moledor). Andy received his high school diploma at Cuyahoga Heights High School in 1945 in Cleveland, Ohio. After graduating, Andy served his country in the US Army until 1946. Andy then moved to Walton Hills, an idyllic small town in the suburbs of Cleveland. He worked for Cleveland Electric Illuminating Co. in Ohio until moving to Lake Havasu City, AZ., In 1971 and worked for Citizens Utilities Electric as a lineman until retiring in 1989.
Andy met the love of his life Rita Mae Barcy Kuntz and got married on October 7, 1950, in St. Wenceslas Catholic Church in Maple Heights, Ohio. They share a son, Dale Andrew Kuntz. Dale Married Heidi.
Andy enjoyed Jeepin’, hiking, camping, football, being outdoors, but most of all, he loved being around his family, whom he absolutely adored.
He was a longtime member of Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church in Lake Havasu City, AZ. He was also a member of The International Brotherhood of Electric Workers Union where his grandson, Dale Kuntz Jr “DJ” and Grandson-in-law, Corey Jackson are part of the same union.
Andrew is preceded in death by his loving wife; Rita Mae, his parents; Andrew and Catherine Kuntz, sisters; Bernice “Bee” Bryant, Eleanor Hosfeld, and Joan Balingit.
He is survived by his son Dale, daughter-in-law Heidi, grandchildren; Megan (Corey) Jackson, DJ (Karissa) Kuntz Jr., Brittany Kuntz, Bradley Kuntz, and Jacob Kuntz, great grandchildren; Andi Kuntz, Declan Jackson, Alli Kuntz, and Baby Boy Kuntz.
Services were entrusted to the care of Lietz Fraze Funeral Home. A funeral mass will be held at Our Lady of The Lake Catholic Church on Friday November 10,2023 at 1:00pm. Internment will be at the Havasu Memorial Gardens.
