Willard Carroll known as “Doug” passed away at the age of 81 on October 8th 2023. Doug passed away, at home with his family by his side in Lake Havasu City Arizona.
Doug was born May 12, 1942 in Tuscaloosa Alabama to parents Calie and William Carroll. He lived in Alabama until he enlisted in the United States Navy at the age of 17 and served in Cuba. After serving in the Navy, Doug Moved to southern California. He had a passion for softball and played in many Adult Leagues with family and friends. In 1977 Doug married his wife Diana , and with her two children they became a family. He worked in the family business for many years manufacturing springs for commercial trucks in Los Angeles. In 2004 Doug became a member of the LDS church where he spent his Sundays in priesthood meetings and enjoyed visiting members with the missionaries. Doug retired in 2009 and moved to lake Havasu in 2010 where he became a full time grandpa. He enjoyed golf, fishing, watching football, reading, and working on dirt bike projects with his grandsons. Doug fell ill in 2022, he began care from River Valley Hospice in 2023. He received the most loving care from the staff and the family would like to thank Frank, Cindy and Judy for everything they've done.
Doug is survived by his wife Diana, Sister Patricia Mullins. Children; Micheal (Susan) Donaghey, Holly (Mitch) Geriminsky. Grandchildren; Stephanie (Daniel) Contreras, and Dakota Killen. Great-Grandchildren Danny, David, Aaliyah and Rebecca Contreras. And His Rottweiler Sadie.
Preceded in death by Mother & Father; Callie & William , Stepfather Oliver Denton, Sister Jean Findly And brother Carl Carroll.
Services will be held on October 23, 2023 at 11am-12pm and the LDS church in Lake Havasu City Arizona.
