ROGER FRANCIS BOUCHER MSGT USAF RETIRED MARCH 26, 1933-September 22, 1923 Roger was born in Worcester, MA to Edward T. and Anna I. (Foucher) Boucher. He attended Worcester schools; graduating from Classical High School in 1953. He enlisted in the USAF in December 1953 and went to aircraft mechanic school in Wichita Falls, TX after basic training. His other assignments included Labrador, Bolling AFB, Washington, DC, Peterson Field, CO, Hickam AFB, HI. Andrews AFB, MD. Roger flew as a crewmember on VIP aircraft for 18 years before retiring after more than 20 years of service. After retiring Roger was a licensed Home Improvement Contractor and carpenter. He also worked at the National Institutes of Health in the carpenter shop for 3 years. Roger met Joyce Ann Yowell on a blind date. They were married on August 10, 1956, in the Bolling Air Force Base Chapel in Washington, DC. Roger and Joyce entered a new era in their lives in 1974 when Roger and his father took a McCulloch flight to Lake Havasu City, AZ and each purchased a lot. Both families moved to Lake Havasu City in 1977. Roger started his second career as a draftsman for Don Dew Design Associates for 9 years. He then established ARBEE Design in 1986. He designed hundreds of homes throughout Lake Havasu City for numerous contractors. After Roger and Joyce retired, they spent several months a year traveling in their motorhome; sight-seeing and visiting with friends and family. They were also members of the Lake Havasu Sams camping chapter for several years. Their travels took them throughout forty-eight of our fifty states (excluding Alaska and Hawaii). Roger earned a commercial pilots license and multi-engine rating through his military years. He was a life member of the Air Force Sergeants Association and Sampson AFB Veteran Association. He has been a member of the Knights of Columbus since 1962 (inactive). He is a past member of the VFW Post 9401. He helped remodel the present Post when they moved into the present location. He served as Judge Advocate in the early 1980's. He was a member of the Civil Air Patrol and was instrumental in helping to bring the first trailer to Lake Havasu from Tucson for the new headquarters on the grounds of the old airport. Roger leaves behind his loving wife of 67 years, Joyce. Sons: Roger M-wife, Irma, Prince Frederick, MD Randy E.-wife, Joyce, Bowie, MD Rick J.-wife, Dodie, Lake Havasu City, AZ Grandchildren: S Great-Grandchildren: 4 Great-Great Grandchild: 1 Sister. Claire C. Lussier of Auburn, MA A family remembrance and Mass will be held in the near future with final burial to be at National Memorial Park, Falls Church, VA.
