Obituary of Royce Everett and Sarah Isabella Morris

Please share a memory of Royce Everett and Sarah Isabella to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Longtime Lake Havasu City resident Royce Everett Morris passed away peacefully at home on September 18, 2023 surrounded by loved ones. Royce was born on August 19, 1937 in Tyler, Texas to Claud and Edna Morris, where he spent his early years with his parents and his brother Glenn. They eventually moved to Southern California and in 1955 Royce began a 45 year career with the McCullough Chain Saw Company and in 1970 relocated to Lake Havasu City when company operations moved there. Longtime Lake Havasu City resident Sarah Isabella Morris passed away peacefully at home on September 26, 2023, just 8 days after her husband Royce, of “broken heart syndrome.” Sarah was born on May 7, 1935 to Samuel and Sadie Kerr in Drumaghlis, Northern Ireland where she spent her early years with her siblings (Gladys, Meta, Sam, and Margaret). Her family always called her “Renee”, which helps to explain why some know her by her family nickname and some know her by her formal name. At the age of 17 she fell while riding her bike on a cold, wet, dreary day and upon her disheveled arrival at home announced “I’m going to America!” It took a few years, but at the age of 22 her dream came true when she arrived alone in Los Angeles, California to begin working as a Nanny. The remainder of her career was spent working in the banking industry in both Long Beach, California and Lake Havasu City, Arizona. They met each other at an Irish Dance in Southern California and married on December 29, 1962 in Hollywood, California. Their early years were spent in Long Beach and then Carson California. In 1970 when McCullough Corporation moved operations to Lake Havasu City, Arizona they relocated and bought a home there in 1973. Their life in Lake Havasu City revolved around their careers, Royce with McCullough and Sarah as a Loan Officer in the banking industry, and their social life with the Elks Lodge. Royce was a member of the Moose Lodge as well as a Past Exalted Ruler of the Elks Lodge. He was very proud of his work starting an RV Park for the Elks. Sarah was a lifetime member of the “Elkettes.”Their social life was intertwined with Elks activities as they belonged to the bowling league and traveled in their motorhome with the Elks Vagabonds. Just last December they celebrated their 60th Wedding Anniversary at a grand affair held at the Elks Lodge. Royce is survived by his nephew, Jimmy Morris and his niece, Janice Hatfield. Sarah is survived by her sister, Margaret Horner, and two nephews, James and Darren Horner. They were loved by many and will be missed dearly. We are especially grateful for the home hospice care provided by Beacon of Hope Hospice Care as well as the loving home care provided by Tina Walgren. A special service will be held for them on Friday, November 17, 2023 at 11am: The Elks Lodge will honor and remember Royce and Sarah Morris with Military Honors, followed by Past Exalted Rulers and Elkettes Lodge of Sorrows ceremonies. Lunch will follow the service. All are welcome. The Elks Lodge 3532 McCullough Blvd N Lake Havasu City Arizona 86406 Services were entrusted to the care of Lietz Fraze Funeral Home.
