Obituary of Lee Terry Leso
Please share a memory of Lee to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Lee (Butch) Leso of Lake Havasu City passed away on Aug. 11, 2023, at the age of 77, with his wife and family by his side.
Lee was born on February 14, 1946, in Endicott, NY, to Chief Petty Officer John P. and Dorothy (Britt). He spent his childhood at various Naval bases around the country and in Japan, graduating in Hawaii. After graduation, he joined the Navy and worked on the USS Oriskany during the Vietnam War. He always talked about his Navy life with pride and loved being on the flight deck of an air craft carrier. He served 22 years of active and reserve duty in the U.S. Navy.
It was all that travel in his early years that had Lee look for a job that included travel for his future. After he retired from full time active duty, he began his career with AT&T and worked there for 34 years. His job took him around the US and to other countries installing telephone equipment. It was at one of those jobs where he met his wife, Pat. Lee was installing the newer equipment in her office that would take her job away. They became friends. Soon Lee’s job kept him closer to home. They fell in love and were married in La Crescenta, CA in 1992.
He enjoyed doing new things and seeing new places. After retirement, Lee and Pat loved to travel across the United States on backroads just to discover the beautiful sites of America. He loved baseball, cruises, Disney parks, shooting, poker and socializing with his friends. But most of all, he loved his family with all his heart and his dog, Max.
Lee was preceded in death by his parents and his brother Bobby. Lee is survived by the love of his life, woman of his dreams, his wife Pat, his beloved children son John and daughter Deanna (from a previous marriage), step-daughter Tracie, grandsons Cassidy and Dakota, granddaughters Sierra and Emily, as well as his one and only favorite sister Donna and numerous nephews, nieces and cousins who meant the world to him.
He used to say, “Your life is made up of two dates with a dash in the middle.” Lee made the most of every moment between those dates.
