In memory of my Uncle (and Godfather) Billy. I'm so sorry to hear about his passing after fighting so hard over the last 9 months.
I'll never forget when he thoughtfully asked me to be the flower girl in his first wedding. I was so excited for the big day and still remember getting my hair curled for the first time. During the reception, the band had taken a break so I grabbed the microphone and sang 'Kokomo' by the Beach Boys for everyone. haha.
Uncle Billy had a jovial spirit and I remember him always offering my 6-year-old "bony butt" a comfortable lap to sit on at family gatherings. :)
I will cherish these memories when honoring his passing. He will be missed.

You were one of the best people I have ever had the chance to meet. You did so many things for me as a teenager and I always enjoyed the time I spent at your house. You were like my second dad and I am not sure if you ever even realized how grateful I am to have been welcomed into your family as a kid. You will be missed by many people including myself. To the youngest sibling in our family of seven, my younger brother, Billy. I remember when you were born four years after me and mom was so tired and would ask me to lay down with her to rest whenever you took a nap. It made her so happy I complied. You would follow me around all day and wear me out, but when you fell asleep and I looked at you I always saw the most beautiful little angel.
We had so much fun at all the horseshows, skating on the pond, sledding and playing games outside running around the house. It was fun when we met you and Sue in Vegas and you always contacted me during all the holidays. You were so gentle and so kind to animals.
Today we planted a Baobab tree on our farm for you. It is called the "Tree of Life." The "Tree of Life" Baobab tree represents the afterlife, and connection between the earth and heaven. The source of life, a force that connects all lives, or the cycle of life and death itself.
Billy I will always love you forever.

Billy was their for me in some ruff times in my early adult life. I will never forget the memories I have of him or the first time he took me out to a full lobster dinner! I am so saddened to hear the news of Billy's passing. I will always remember his quick wit, playful personality and the wholehearted way he loved his wife, children and grandchildren.
One of my favorite memories was visiting Billy, Susan, Jessica and Chad in Las Vegas (Jess had just learned he was pregnant with Ava that day!). It was a popular day for weddings and I remember Billy saying "You cant swing a dead cat without hitting a Bride in this place!" I was not familiar with that expression, so it is one I continue to credit to him and a great example of his sense of humor.
I know the last several months were very difficult, but I am grateful that he was able to spend them with his family.
Rest well, Uncle Billy.
