Obituary of Joy Colleen Brock

Joy C. Brock was born on July 23,1936 to Frank and Ruth Kiser (Carroll) in Carter County, Kentucky. She was predeceased by her parents, brother James and husbands John Richardson and Eugene Brock. Dixie was her childhood nickname, her given name Joy defines her personality and love of life. Joy moved to California in her teens, and she never looked back. She made friends easily and without hesitation. She raised her two sons in Lynwood and Westminster. She moved to Lake Havasu, AZ when she retired from a very rewarding career running a very successful Pharmacy retail store. Lake Havasu is where her fun-loving nature came to life. Her legendary St. Patrick's Day party Hosted by her and her Partner Jack Quigley of almost 20 years, is the talk of town! Despite many years removed from her Carter County origins, she always maintained her great sense of humor and fanciful accent. Joy beamed with Christmas Spirit during the holidays, but fantasy football is what she enjoyed most with her son, Mike. She overcame many challenges over the years, she struggled to maintain her independence after her husband Gene passed. She took care of dear Fred who was her best friend and partner on her trips to Laughlin. She is always happy to invite friends over and prepare a meal that she meticulously planned, but never on Sundays during football season. The best part of her day is at 5 o'clock cocktail time, with her dear love Jack crafting her favorite cocktail. To remember Joy is to enjoy life, love life, and live the best life! She is survived by her sons Michael and Duane, her Grandchildren Jake, Kellie, Johnny, and Meghan, her Stepdaughters Cindy and Judy, her Great-Granddaughters Emma Joy and baby Rose, her Daughters-in-Law Kathy and Tanya Marie. She will be missed by her family and her friends! A Celebration of Life will be announced and commence sometime during the upcoming football season
