Obituary of Richard Paul Durham
Please share a memory of Richard to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
The Man, the Myth, the Legend, our Richard Paul Durham aka “King Richard” died on Thursday June 22nd at nearly 84. He loved twisting a throttle, twisting a wrench, a Havasu sunset, bench racing, delegating work, dancing slow, any reason to invent and fabricate, and all times around friends and family. He never met a stranger, and he was the last one at the party. He hated onions, rattles in cars, and watching the Cowboys lose a lead. He did dangerous things with style while crafting the motorcycles, sandrails, and jeeps to do those dangerous things. He will be always loved and unimaginably missed and remembered. Long live the King! He was the forever loving and always particular teammate to his wife Diane. He was the always fun light to his 10 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. He was the hero and teacher to his sons, Jerry, Rory, Bobby, and David. He was the older brother to Mike, Gary, Leroy, Paula, and Larry (and “the prettiest” he would say). Born in Missouri on June 29th 1939, young Richard was always the kind rebel that lived and loved life to the fullest. Then at 65, Richard became a born again Christian giving him a new peace, and an even more beautiful love of the Lord, life, family, and beyond. Jesus said to him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.” - John 14:6
Service will be held July 15, 2023 at 1pm at Redemption Hill Calvary Chapel on 2925 Kiowa Blvd.
